eLearning Lisboa 07: Sessão plenária I

By | 15 de Outubro de 2007

Claudio Dondi, Presidente da Scienter (moderador)

eLearning is in the center of Learning and ICT, and it’s no small matter to be that interface and that sinergetic place

? O que não correu bem na implementação da Agenda Lisboa?

  • Paul Lefrere, Professor do e-learning e investigador, Univ Tampere e Institute of Educational Technology Uk
    • A rota académica nao é sempre a melhor. Are we pushing our kids in the rigth direction?
  • Markku Markulla, Director do Lifelong Learning Institute Dipoli
    • What did not work? Nort enough networking, no networking skills for sharing best practices , outcome so everyone profits.
    • Productivity
    • Integration of ICT and productivity, we still dream of superproductivity
    • Inovativeness, nor well managed not a stimulting force behyonf our processe.
    • Joint knowledge creation, facilitated workplace learning
    • We need new skills for new jobs but how to create curricula for such a contradiction?
    • new elearn conc based on socisl web developing networks of excelence.
  • Diogo Vasconcelos, eGov CISCO
    • What went wrong? The first 5 years!
    • One can’t change a culture in five years.
    • Europ Culture is averse to risk, but we have to risck to be competitive, and this has to be changed in school., It’s at leat one generation long jog.
    • Merit culture. Is a strong motivation to learn. It takes a lot of time.
    • We just did not understand it would be so hard to change the cultural underlying.

Claudio Dondi, last year eveyone said Lisbon agenda was going to be a complete failure. Now it’s no so. The international conjecture is also better bor the European agenda. The Utopia placed was needed. (Cirtação de Conn Bandit). We can now recoveer the ground lost (not used) in the 1st phase of implementation.

Direct proposals for this conference, (reptos)

  • Paul Lefrere, Professor do e-learning e investigador, Univ Tampere e Institute of Educational Technology Uk
    • Em alianca com o MIT, uma aliança de formação
    • Projectos piloto, open innovation action, open content everything to try top break the present sistem which takes to long for researh to ve of value for the socienty that pays.
    • We need new professions, for these jovs, we need to remake many people, who come out of universities allready out of date.
    • Network of experts in DG6
    • Looking for new ways of sharing, converting networks of pelople into
  • Markku Markulla, Director do Lifelong Learning Institute Dipoli
    • Empowering people
    • Empowering groups/Teams:
      Knowledge sharing, Sharing Experiences
    • Empowering networks
Now everyone needs to be connected with each other
Using Social Web , not onley courses, each one creates its own knowledge management toolbx.
Mixed modes from presential and online, face to face and face to computer… but someone allways miss something
We need better exchange of concepts that work, connecting innovations to people.
  • Diogo Vasconcelos, eGov CISCO
    • No single idea taht changes the world or europe
    • The mood is diferent
    • there are some results
    • From gorverment to Society ownership
    • Make a market for elearning, recognize credits.
    • Univ must nuy digital contents
    • UK Learning Credits
    • A sort of ebay or google for elearning, school of eveything, for people to sell skills. where people buy and sell tranafers of knowledge
    • Web 2.0 mekes such things so much easier… and cheapper. It does not even have to be perfect at launch time… we need qa beta attitude in european eLearning entrepeneurship.
    • Usergeneated content is mostly video. Youtube is now as broadband as the whole internet was in 1990.
    • Korea has 10 million people with fiber to home at 28$ per month, and in Japan they have it for free
    • Chalenges transformable into opportuities
      • Aging population
      • Carbon footprint redutction (Al Gore rules!!!)
    • How to make the two things a strength instead of a challge
There are amny thing we need to train our contiozenenry in a new world (Carbon efficiency is just an example)
  • Rogério Carapuça, Presidente do Conselho de Administração da Novabase, SGPS
    • Very simple things that one can define and create
    • Consider
      • Culture of Merit, which we can legislate, where to keep the job or to progress in the career every public servant has to better himself.
      • That every minimaly complex product has, instead of a paper manual we never read anyway and allways throw away, an eLearning object avaialble on the web. At least it saves trees and energy. 37% does not yet have minimal ICT skills, this would force them to.
